Coenzyme Q10 Against Cellulite
Coenzyme Q10 (Ubiquinone) is the full term. In our skin, Q10 levels decline after the age of 14. Most people will still have enough naturally. However, there are some factors that have been known to decrease these levels besides age. For example, UV contamination also reduces the skin’s Q10 levels. It is vital to stay away from the sun as much as you can and when you are exposed you MUST not forget to lather up on that SPF! I live in South Florida and it is all about the sun here. I will be the first to admit that sunbathing is\was my guilty pleasure when I was younger. As I am aging, I am more aware of all the dangers that the sun can cause. Internally and externally, of course.
Using a lotion that contains Q10 is a very efficient and easy way to make sure your skin is getting in some extra Q10. There are many on the market to choose from. I am obsessed with Life’s Butter. This is not only a soft, hydrating lotion; it also contains high levels of Q10 and gets this… IT IS AN ANTI- CELLULITE CREAM< so you are killing two birds in one stone basically.
What I love so much about this cream is the soft scent. It is supposed to be used on cellulite, but I find that the texture is so smooth, and the hydration lasts me almost all day, I just started using it daily. It is gentle enough to be used daily with all-natural ingredients besides Q10. Using a cream that contains this helps by acting as an antioxidant to the skin and can effectively fight against the signs of aging. Q10 has been also proven to tighten the saggy skin and give it an even appearance. Just another reason to use a lotion with Q10.
There are many supplements that are extremely safe if in fact, you may need to take them. These Q10 supplements are used to treat many different situations. There has been research, that proves that consuming a supplement with Q10 can help lower blood pressure and may help with some heart issues as well. One study is concluding that these supplements can slow the progression of Alzheimer’s disease. Another study is showing that Q10 supplements can aid with fertility issues like poor sperm count or even improving egg quality and lastly, increasing antioxidant protection. As you may know, female fertility decreases with age due to a decline in the number and quality of the eggs.
Another form of Q10 is probably the easiest one and you may be doing this already: eating foods that are rich in this component. There are foods that contain a large amount of Q10 such as cold-water fish, tuna, mackerel, and sardines. (On a personal note, I do not like to eat any fish at any time, so this is not an option for me). Other foods can be organ meats- heart, liver and kidney, muscle meats – pork, beef or chicken, spinach, cauliflower, broccoli, oranges, strawberries, and some legumes- soybeans, lentils, peanuts, and vegetable oils. Chances are you are already eating at least a few of these already. If not… what are you waiting for? Grab a bag of roasted nuts instead of the chips! You are welcome!
