Cellulite is a common skin condition that primarily targets women, as 80% to 90% of women have cellulite. Only 10% of men have cellulite, due to the way fat is distributed among men and women. It is a normal and harmless condition that comes in three stages. For some, the only time they spot cellulite is when they pinch their skin (stage one). For others, cellulite is noticeable only when they are standing (stage 2). Finally, some people experience cellulite when they are standing and sitting (stage 3).
One of the most common and least attractive areas that cellulite can form is on the bottom. There’s a good reason for this: the body generally stores more fat in this area. When fat pushes through the connective tissue, this is when textured skin (aka, cellulite) occurs. It’s not easy to get rid of bum cellulite on your own. It will take time, consistency, and patience. But while difficult, it isn’t impossible.
Get rid of bum cellulite with these five tips.
Eat Less Sugar
Let’s clear something up: you can’t completely get rid of cellulite, but strategies like cutting back on sugar can help reduce its appearance. Sugar gets stored in fat cells which causes them to expand. When fat cells expand, this can result in dimpled skin. So, if you’re craving something sweet, snack on fruits instead of processed foods, like pastries.
Sugar isn't the only food to cut back on. Check out these five foods that can cause cellulite.
Exercise Daily
Can exercise reduce cellulite? Absolutely!
Even if you have a job that forces you to sit eight hours a day, still make time to exercise. On your break, go for a brisk 15-minute walk. If you have time during lunch, expand that walk to 30 minutes. After work or on weekends, devote at least 30 minutes to aerobics and cardiovascular exercises. Do this at least five days out of the week to reduce the appearance of cellulite on the bum.
We definitely recommend adding effective butt workouts to your routine, like:
- Walking lunge
- Side lunge
- Squats
- High knees
- Running
Use a Body Brush
An effective way to remove cellulite from your bum is by using a body brush. Dry brushing drains and removes toxins from the lymph. Additionally, it can improve skin texture, making your buttocks look and feel better.
Make sure to dry brush on damp skin in circular motions. Do this twice a week, starting at five to ten minutes per session. Use a gentle, fine bristle dry brush to prevent microscopic tearing.
Try Anti-Cellulite Creams
Anti-cellulite creams tend to get a bad rep because many brands sell gimmicky products. However, there are several creams that are effective at removing bum cellulite. The right anti-cellulite cream will help build collagen, temporarily plump the skin, and redistribute fat cells. Look for nourishing ingredients, such as L-Carnitine, coconut extract, and Coenzyme Q10 which are found in Life’s Butter Anti-Cellulite Cream – a BEST SELLING product.
Use Exfoliating Coffee Scrubs
There are many types of scrubs to get rid of bum cellulite, but perhaps the most effective is the coffee scrub. Coffee removes excess water from the skin which can tighten the skin and reduce the appearance of cellulite. It improves blood flow, which results in less fluid retention. Coffee scrubs also contain antioxidant properties to protect the skin against environmental pollutants and free radicals, keeping it healthy for longer.
If this is your first time dabbling with coffee scrubs, we recommend trying The Exfoliation Bundle. Apply the scrub in the shower, working the product into your skin in circular motions. Rinse and follow up with a thick moisturizer.
